Parents Corner – Lots of Helpful Resources
Visit our Parents Corner to find a whole new section of Infant and Toddler links!
These add to the many links we’ve provided over the years to resources and fun websites for your family. We include educational websites, fun websites for kids and parents and a variety of family services.
Join the discussion below! What do you like or dislike about family and kid-oriented websites? What are your favourite kids and family websites? Are there any great sites we’ve missed that you think we should list? To share them please mention them in the comments below.
One note: please do “full disclosure” for any link you provide if it is for a website you own or operate. We’ll review all suggestions and add any links that we feel will benefit the Mini-Skool community.

I like the Ontario Science Centre’s website. The Science Centre is a great place for kids of all ages, but the website didn’t seem to have much for kids until I found the SciZone page http://www.ontariosciencecentre.ca/scizone/
The games page has quite a few fun things to do, though I would say they’re for older kids, not pre-schoolers or kids in the start of grade school.

Thank you for your comment Gary! And also for the links to the Science Centre’s kids resources. In looking at them, I think they are definitely best suited for older children and we will add them to our Parents Corner links page in a new category for older kids.
Thanks again,

Mini-Skool, A Child’s Place
Hi,
Thanks for the links you have on this page. My ideas for links are kind of seasonal, but here you go. Our family had fun going to the “Trail of Lights” at Downsview Park. It’s made for driving through, but on Wednesdays they don’t allow cars, so you can walk through and enjoy the lights more as long as it isn’t too cold or windy.

For things to do around Toronto, one of the places I look is here

They don’t have a Mississauga page, but sometimes I see things for Mississauga listed here.
Happy holidays!
Yvonne
Hi Yvonne,
Thank you for your suggestions. The Trail of Lights looks like fun! I agree with you, these links are more seasonal, so we won’t add them to the main links page.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays to you too!
