OUR FAMILY FUN DAY EVENT – 2017

Our Eat, Play, Love – A Family Fun Day Fundraising Event has come and gone and what an incredible success it was. Thanks to all your support, generosity and participation, we were able to raise $7500 for the “Help Athena 2 Walk” campaign, through on line donations and at our fundraising event.

First, let me start off with a humble THANKS to Joan Reynolds who shared Athena’s story with us and asked if there was any way we could support her cause. I truly think that things come to you for a reason, as we were just contemplating which cause we could pay it forward to this year and what an honour it was to support a member of our Mini-Skool Family. Athena’s story truly touched our hearts and we were so excited to aid her in meeting her goal. Let’s not forget my heartfelt THANKS to Chris Halliday and her TEAM who hosted this event and did a FANTASTIC job.

Second of all let me express my GRATITUDE to all our sponsors, vendors and wonderful people who support Mini-Skool in various capacities, for their generosity, as we couldn’t have done it without them. The flyers, tickets and thank you card which were donated by DANICE, the numerous gifts donated for the silent auction by parents, employees, our vendors and on line donations were amazing and more than we expected.

Thirdly, MANY THANKS to ALL our clients, the many families, friends and volunteers that came out to support this event. It was great to see both past and present employees with their children as well. The attendance was overwhelming. Your gift of time, support and engagement was precious and really touched my heart.

Fourth of all, let me extend my APPRECIATION to the Police, Fire and Ambulance departments for the generosity of their time to support our event. They were there for most of the day and the children and adults, really enjoyed the tours and time spent with all of us in support of this worthy event.

I also have to take a moment to offer a very special THANK YOU to Tasnim Bhujwalla Mirasol, (a past Mini-Skool employee), her husband Eugene, their sons Xavier and Khalil, her cousin Zoher Bhujwalla, her nephew Taher Bhujwalla and her sister-in-law Tasneem Bhujwalla who continue to support Mini-Skool events, our communities and their families. Tasnim actually kick started this annual event last year, by asking us to support her efforts in raising monies for Sick Kids. We were so honoured and thankful to have hosted the event at our Bromsgrove location, which raised $6200 for this organization. Sue Holder and her TEAM did an AMAZING job of hosting the event. We are now committed to having an annual event to support the community and their families and any worthy causes, as it’s a small way of giving back. It’s so important to be thankful for the simple things in life that we often take for granted and also to teach children the value and benefits of paying it forward.

Lastly, I would like to acknowledge our Mini-Skool Team Participants and our wonderful volunteers which are as follows:

Your hard work and efforts are acknowledged and appreciated more than words could express and thank you is not enough suffice to say. Congratulations, as you paid it forward in such a big way and I know that you and your families will be blessed in life for the simple gift of giving back. To all the Mini-Skool employees that participated, I am truly proud and humbled to have you on the Mini-Skool Team and for all the friends and family volunteers, I feel so honoured and thankful that you dedicated your time to this fabulous event.  I especially want to thank the employees and volunteers who brought their children to support this event. What wonderful role models you all are to your children, as you’ve shown them the importance of giving back and supporting the community. I applaud you and your children, as you all did an outstanding job of providing some joy, fun and educational experiences to our guests. You should be proud of yourselves!

I will end by wishing you and your families the best of health and much happiness and THANK YOU one last time for your contribution that made our event so successful, as we couldn’t have done it without YOU!
